A game server is a managed instance of one game with a control panel built around it. A VPS is a blank virtual machine — more flexible and more powerful, but you are responsible for what runs on it.
Plans are defined by memory tier, and moving between tiers is handled through the client area. Reach out from your client area before you resize so we can plan the change with you.
Each tier lists a monthly transfer allowance on a 1 Gbps uplink. 10 Gbps is available as an upgrade. If your workload is likely to exceed the listed transfer, tell us before you order and we will talk through the options.
Network-level filtering is applied to your IP to absorb volumetric attacks before they reach your server. It does not replace application-level hardening — see our network page for what the protection does and does not cover.
VPS instances use KVM virtualization. VirtFusion provides the management surface for supported deployments. Your operating system runs inside an isolated virtual machine with root access.
Standard VPS plans give you root access and responsibility for the software you run. If you want a panel or semi-managed setup, discuss the scope and any additional costs with us before ordering.
